Step 1. Foundation Skills - about 3 hours - $75
Develop the foundation strokes needed for easy, skillful kayaking in any conditions. This class is conducted in the shallow, warm water of Snug Harbor. We meet at Sweetwater Kayaks.

Bishop Harbor

A wonderful estuary just south of the Skyway Bridge. We'll check out mangrove islands, a beach on Tampa Bay, and mangrove tunnels. This may be the last trip here until October or later.

Rainbow River

One of our most popular tours over the years. We go beyond the standard KP Hole to the springs and back. We also go through several side venues for more great experiences.

Weeki Wachee River

Weeki Wachee River State Park canoe livery (map)
$30 guide fee plus $30 rental ( & parking: $3)
Crystal clear water, easy trip down stream, cool water (72°) chilled air, snorkeling possibilities, maybe otters and/or manatees. For the more adventurous there are also trees to jump out of and others from which to swing on ropes into the river. We usually go on week days to avoid the boat traffic present on weekends.

Homosassa River

Cool spring fed waters and a jungle like canopy of trees surround you on this trip. Crystal clear water and the occasional manatee keep you on the edge of your seat. The "Jeff and Sean show" will be your guides on this fun frolic!

Robinson Preserve
Wed, June 16, 12:30pm – 4:00pm

Robinson Preserve kayak launch (map)  $25 guide fee plus $30 rental
This will be a short afternoon paddle at one of the nicest preserves and paddling venues in our area. They have the best kayaking facilities at the put-in of anywhere within a hundred miles. If the eagles are gone, we'll explore the whole preserve. If they are still there, we will be in Tampa Bay a bunch. If it is not too hot, we may hike a bit, too.

Snug Harbor
Thurs, June 17, evening

Snug Harbor - Meet at Sweetwater Kayaks (map)
Thursday evening paddle from the shop through the waters of Snug Harbor. Bring your kayak, canoe or Paddleboard and join us on this free social event. A sunset cruise in placid surroundings. Afterward we go to the Banana Boat Restaurant (next door to the shop) for drinks and snacks. So bring a couple of bucks for that. Rentals available. TGIF - Shell & Boardwalk
Fri, June 18, 6:30pm – 10:00pm

Sawyer Key Put-In (map)  $25 guide fee plus $30 rental
There are "great tides" this evening with a pretty good moon. We'll meet at the Sawyer Key Put-In for our paddle. Afterward, Big D is buying appetizers at the Boardwalk Restaurant.

Learn how to move forward more efficiently, as well as control your kayak with your feet and blade. Taught by Russell Farrow, expedition paddler that has paddled in some of the most challenging waters on the planet.

Lido Key & their mangrove tunnels
Sun, June 20, 10:00am – 2:30pm

South Lido Key County Park Kayak Launch (map)
$25 guide fee plus $30 rental
This two trips in one. Some of us can tour immediately, while others take a brief class and then tour. It is perfect for beginners as well as experienced paddlers. We can find places protected from any normal winds and teach some beginner kayak control. And, we can take a beautiful tour of the park and their mangrove tunnels. We may even get a scientific guide* from Mote Marine to tell us about nature in the park. *knows more than Big D

Rattlesnake Key
Wed, June 30, 11:00am – 3:30pm

Emerson Point (map)  $25 guide fee plus $30 rental
Open water, intermediate paddle during which spray skirts may be needed. We'll put-in at Emerson Point, cross Emerson Bayou to Rattlesnake Key and proceed along the edge of Tampa Bay past a really cool sponge field. Then we'll have a late lunch on a beach on an island before cutting through Miguel Bay and then Critical Bayou on our return trip. We are usually blessed with beautifully clear water on this trip. If we are setting a good pace we may go explore for some mangrove tunnels on the island.   Register at 727-403-7046 or (register online)
